Today we are here to help make life a little less complicated.  So many of you out there grew up with a bow in hand ready to fire.  Well, we aren’t little kids anymore, now we have to make the big boy choices and get a real bow that is going to feel just right in the palm of one hand and at the fingertips of the other.  Regardless of if you are a master with a bow and arrow or if you are just beginning, searching for a new bow is hard to do, let alone finding a good one at a good price with all the qualities you need.  So today we will break it down for you and show off a little research of our own with the top 5 recurve bows. The following bows that we looked at come as a variety from starter bows to experienced archer bows.  We have analyzed over 50 different bows and listed below; you will see our top five and why. After reading through the article, you will know which bow is best for you.

What Exactly is A Recurve Bow

A recurve bow is a bow with limbs that curve away from the archer when unstrung. A recurve bow stores more energy and delivers energy more efficiently than the equivalent straight-limbed bow, giving a greater amount of energy and speed to the arrow. A recurve will permit a shorter bow than the simple straight limb bow for a given arrow energy, and this form was often preferred by archers in environments where long weapons could be cumbersome, such as in brush and forest terrain, or while on horseback.

Recurved limbs also put greater strain on the materials used to make the bow, and they may make more noise with the shot. Extreme recurves make the bow unstable when being strung. An unstrung recurve bow can have a confusing shape and many Native American weapons, when separated from their original owners and cultures, were incorrectly strung backwards and destroyed when attempts were made to shoot them.

What To Look For in Recurve Bows

Just like any other big purchase, you want to do your research and make sure that the money you are spending isn’t going into something that is just going to break or wither away in a few years. Taking care of your purchase is essential to keeping it around longer.  However, also, you want to do your studying on what your bow is made of. Check for the manufacturer and how their ratings are. Not only for the bow part but also the string. Durability in a bow is going to be one of the main things you want to find. Nothing feels better than being out hunting and knowing that when you pull the arrow back while aiming at a deer, that when you let go, it’s going to fly and bring home the dinner.  A few other things to look for is going to be tension strength and size of the bow. Can’t bring home a full-size bow for a young beginning hunter. Regardless, let’s get to the fun part of the review.

The Spyder Takedown Recurve Bow is our number one selection, and it is for a good reason.  This bow comes with everything you could ever need such as instructions, premium carbon arrows, recurve bow case, stringer tool, and an armguard.  For archers that have a draw length of over 29 inches, specialist recommend the Spyder XL. Bow length is 62 inches and was designed again by the same engineers as the Samick Sage.  At one point there were even referring to it as the Sage 2. The hard edges of the riser and limb pockets have been rounded to provide a sleeker, lighter weight, and more comfortable.  The bow gives off its high-end look with a layer of red wood added to the riser to make it stand out. This bow was our favorite to research on. On good or bad hunting days, having this bow will make the experience better.  Last but not least, the reviews on our number one bow are also off the charts. Not only does the company stand behind their product, but the consumers such as yourself also back it, and those types of reviews are the ones to pay attention too.
